Great article.
Can we define "D motion"? It is not a term I am familiar with.

D Motion is leaving on first sound. Wheaton guys cadence is Down (mental 1,2,3) Ready Set Go. So everything is D motion or R motion. Leave on D in done or R in ready. Toss, Pass Game, zone option are all D motion. Veer and any twirls are R motion

I would think D motion, I don't use that cadence, but to get that lead motion around you would need to leave early in the cadence.

For us the only things that aren’t D motion are 12/13 (Inside Veer) Any Twirl motion

So play action off veer would be D motion or would that fall under its a veer looking play so u keep it the same.

Good question, I think it depends on how you are doing the play action protection. If you are including the BSA's in the protection then they need to leave on D motion. If you are using the BSA to effect the playside coverage then they leave on Ready.

For us all passes are D motion. That way if he is in protection he gets out of QB’s way. Or he continues on swing route.
